3. Neurofunk Bass (Drum & Bass/Bass Music)
- Layer A: Spectral Saw, 7 voices unison, detune 0.45, stereo spread 1.2.
- Layer B: Same, but pitched +12 semitones with a high-cut filter.
- Mod Matrix: Assign Velocity to Filter Cutoff. Assign an LFO to Unison Detune for movement.
- Result: A wall of sound that fills 180 degrees of the stereo field without eating your CPU.
- Sidechain your pads: Use the built-in sidechain trigger (assignable to LFO 3) to create pulsing trance gates without an external compressor.
- Automate the Spectral Tilt: During a bridge section, slowly automate the spectral tilt from 0% to 100% on a sustained chord—the timbre shifts from dark and round to bright and airy, creating tension.
- Stack instances: Because v1115 is lighter on CPU, run three instances: one for sub-bass (mono, simple sine), one for midrange harmonics (saw with Spiral Filter), and one for high sparkle (wavetable with chorus). Bus them together for a massive layered sound.
- External processing: While the plugin includes reverb and delay, they are serviceable but not spectacular. Consider turning them off and using Valhalla VintageVerb or EchoBoy for better depth.
