Sense Knowledge
E.W. Kenyon was a prominent Christian teacher and author whose ideas significantly influenced the Word of Faith movement. One of his most fundamental teachings is the distinction between two types of knowledge: and Revelation Knowledge .
By downloading and studying this text, you learn to stop being a victim of your circumstances and start being a ruler of your spirit. As Kenyon famously summarized: "The senses bring a report. The Word brings a report. The man of faith acts on the Word’s report."
Revelation Knowledge
, on the other hand, comes directly from the Word of God through the Holy Spirit. This is not intellectual data gathered by the brain, but spiritual truth deposited into the human heart. Kenyon believed that the "downfall" of the modern church was its attempt to understand a spiritual God using only Sense Knowledge tools. Why the Distinction Matters 💡 Faith begins where Sense Knowledge ends.
Over-reliance on the physical senses leads to doubt and fear. Renewing the Mind:
The Two Kinds of Knowledge
- Authenticity: Ensure the PDF you download includes Kenyon’s distinct chapter headings and his unique capitalization style (e.g., he often capitalizes "Sense Knowledge" and "Revelation Knowledge" to distinguish them as entities).
- Context: Read the PDF alongside The Bible in the Light of Our Redemption for deeper context.
- Legacy: While the PDF is free to share in many circles, respect the work of the publishers who have kept Kenyon’s typeset alive.
Function:
It allows a believer to see things from God’s perspective. It reveals the "Finished Work of Christ"—what God has already done for the believer regardless of physical evidence.
