Trail Life Usa Elective Badges !link!
Trail Life USA offers a variety of Elective Badges (often referred to as "Elective Trail Badges") that allow Trailmen in the Adventurers (6th–8th grade) and Navigators (9th–12th grade) programs to explore specific interests, develop life skills, and earn advancement toward higher ranks. Overview of Elective Badges
- Plan monthly meetings: January = “Fitness Month” (earn Fitness, Strength Training, etc.)
- Organize weekend outings: Campout with Wilderness Survival, Fishing, and Astronomy badges.
- Recognize adult talents: A dad who is an electrician can mentor the Basic Electricity badge.
- Encourage friendly competition: “Who can earn the most electives in a year?” (with a trophy for the top Trailman).
Session 3 (90 min)
A common strategy is to use elective badges to teach the skills needed for rank advancement. For instance, earning the Camping elective badge (Bronze) helps a Trailman master the requirements for his Adventurer rank. trail life usa elective badges
