How to Download and Install the 32-bit LIP
- Security updates: No new LIP patches. A new vulnerability affecting localized UI strings will not be fixed.
- Windows 11 compatibility: Office 2016 runs on Windows 11, but Microsoft does not guarantee LIP stability on newer OS builds.
- Modern Alternatives: Microsoft 365 now offers built-in UI switching for over 100 languages without separate LIP installs. The 32-bit version of Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise is still available but discouraged.
Important Prerequisites (Read First)
Unlike a full language pack, which translates every single corner of the software, the LIP was a lighter, more nimble version. It focused on the most important parts—the buttons, menus, and commands—to make the interface feel like home. For many users around the globe, it was the key that unlocked their work, allowing them to type and organize in languages that were not included in the original 32-bit Office installation.
