- Hybrid Graphics vs. Discrete GPU Mode: The P1 Gen 4 features NVIDIA RTX A2000, A4000, A5000, or GeForce RTX 3080 GPUs. The BIOS decides if the internal display runs via the Intel iGPU (power saving) or directly from the NVIDIA dGPU (maximum performance).
- Thermal Management: Given the thermal constraints of a 16-inch thin chassis, the BIOS manages fan curves and power limits (PL1/PL2).
- Vantage Integration: Modern Lenovo BIOS interacts deeply with Lenovo Commercial Vantage to allow OS-level hardware control.
Main Tabs Explained:
- Intel SpeedStep: Enable/disable (default Enabled).
- CPU Power Management: Enable/disable (default Enabled).
- PCI Express Power Management: ASPM control.
- Sleep State: Linux S3 (Suspend to RAM) or Windows 10/11 Modern Standby (S0ix). Warning: Switching to Linux S3 may cause wake issues on some units.
