- Direction: Face South (the direction of Lord Yama and Dakshinamurti).
- Mala: Use a Crystal (Sphatik) or Rudraksha mala for 108 repetitions.
- Offerings: While chanting, offer red flowers (especially Jaswand or Hibiscus), vermilion (Kumkum), and light a ghee or camphor lamp.
- Mindset: Maintain absolute focus. This is a fierce mantra; a distracted mind will not yield results. Avoid non-vegetarian food and alcohol on the day of chanting.
