Why Does the J530S Lose Dual SIM on U7 Firmware?

1. Carrier Locking Strategy – SK Telecom wanted to limit the phone to a single line to encourage contract locking.
2. Bootloader Version U7 Restriction – Starting with U7, Samsung introduced “Carrier ID Defense,” which resists modifications to the efs and persist partitions.
3. Missing Telephony Stack – Some U7 builds lack the second ril (radio interface layer) daemon, breaking the hardware detection.

Stability:

Generally stable for daily tasks like messaging and web browsing. However, because it is modified firmware, it often trips the Knox security counter , disabling features like Samsung Pay and Secure Folder.

• Solution: Reinstall Samsung Drivers. Ensure the USB setting is switched to DM+ACM+ADB.
