Introduction
- 2m Sensitivity: Excellent. 0.18 µV typical. It will hear weak signals that swamp lesser radios.
- Wideband RX (50–999 MHz): This was a killer feature. You can listen to AM aircraft (118-136 MHz), FM broadcast (88-108 MHz), VHF low band (50-54 MHz), and UHF (400-470 MHz) in FM mode. Note: It does not receive SSB or AM on HF.
- Scanning: Fast (approx. 25 channels/sec). The 207 memories allow for bank scanning.
Manufacturing Origin
: All genuine Icom radios are produced exclusively in Japan . Counterfeit units labeled "Made in China" or other countries are confirmed fakes.
- F → TONE – cycles through: OFF → TONE → TSQL → DTCS → etc.
- Choose TONE (only encode).
- Press F → SET → rotate to tone frequency (e.g., 88.5 Hz) → select via dial.
