• Standard SD Card (Not SDHC or SDXC for older units?): Caution: Early RNS 315 units (pre-2011) only read standard SD (2GB max). Later units support SDHC (32GB max). For a v.4 map (approx. 4.5GB to 6.5GB), you need a 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB SDHC card. If your unit is very old, you may need to update firmware first. Assume 8GB SDHC is the sweet spot.
• Format: FAT32. Not exFAT. Not NTFS.
• Speed: Class 10 is fine, but Class 4 is more compatible. Avoid Ultra High Speed (UHS) cards if possible, as the RNS 315 has a slow bus speed.
