Overview: Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev (Episodes 1–200)
This arc (Episodes 155-170) is visually spectacular. Ganga arrogantly descends with the force of a thousand suns. Shiva simply opens his jata (matted locks) and catches the entire river. Ganga becomes entangled, humbled, and flows out as a gentle stream. This episode is often cited by fans as the epitome of the show’s VFX success.
Arc 3: Daksha’s Betrayal & The Fire of Yagna (Episodes 51-90)
- Top Episodes: 155, 160, 175, 190, 200
- What happens: Shiva finally accepts Parvati. Their celestial wedding (Episode 160) is a grand spectacle featuring all gods. However, the demon Tarakasura has a boon that only Shiva’s son can kill him. The story shifts to the birth of Ganesha and Kartikeya (Murugan).
- Best Moments: Episode 175 – The story of how Parvati creates Ganesha from sandalwood paste and how Shiva beheads him, only to later replace his head with that of an elephant.
- Episode 200: The celebration of Kartikeya’s birth and his investiture as the commander of the divine army. The episode ends with a cliffhanger setting up the battle against Tarakasur.
- Sati ignoring Daksha’s insult and leaving for Kailash.
- Shiva revealing his Viraat Swaroop (cosmic form) to Sati.
- Daksha Yajna & Sati’s sacrifice (Ep. ~110-120): Mouni Roy’s performance as Sati burns herself in the yogic fire. Mohit Raina’s roar of pain is legendary.

The Penance of Parvati
- Top Episodes: 68, 72, 85, 88, 90
- What happens: This is the most tragic arc. Daksha organizes a grand Yagna but deliberately does not invite Shiva. Despite Shiva’s warning, Sati attends the ceremony to confront her father.
- Best Moment: Episode 85 – Daksha insults Shiva in the open court, calling him "Shmashan Vaasi" (crematorium dweller).
- The Climax: Episode 88 to 90 – Unable to bear the insults hurled at her husband, Sati immolates herself in the Yogic fire (Daksha Yagna). When Shiva learns of this, he unleashes Veerbhadra and destroys the Yagna. Episode 90 ends with Shiva carrying Sati’s burnt body across the universe in a grief-stricken rage.
