Activating doesn't require a "generated" code from a third-party site—in fact, using unofficial "crack" or "keygen" codes can expose your device to security risks.
1. Security Threats
- Online Activation: The software pings Avast servers immediately upon entry. Even if you type a mathematically valid code, the server checks if that code has been paid for and if it is currently in use. Keygens cannot decrypt Avast’s SSL-protected servers.
- Hardware ID (HWID) Locking: Avast ties the license to your specific computer hardware (Motherboard ID, Hard drive serial, etc.). A code generated on another machine will not work on yours.
