Set "Default Save to Original Folder": Go to Settings > Import. Uncheck "Always copy to My Documents." This prevents you from duplicating files and filling your C: drive.
Use the "Calendar" view: Most people use "Folder" view. Don't. The Calendar view in the bottom left lets you see exactly when you took photos, which is vital for sorting old cameras with wrong date stamps.
